FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT GRADES DO YOU TEACH?
My specialty is K-2. ( Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade). I do also tutor students in older and younger grades. If your child is in any elementary grade, please don't hesitate to reach out. Most likely the support they need lies within my area of expertise. If it does not, I would be happy to connect you with another teacher/tutor.
HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE FOR YOUR TUTORING SERVICES?
The first session (trial session) is $50 for 50 minutes. After that, 30-minute sessions cost $70 and 50-minute sessions cost $100. This includes materials, curriculum-based lesson plans, and in-home service. Typically I ask that families pre-purchase 5-10 sessions so that there is commitment from both sides to provide steady and structured extra practice for the child. However, I understand this is not always possible in the summer. If you are looking for summer tutoring, we can talk about how many sessions feel realistic for your child and go from there.
10% off for siblings when you schedule them back-to-back in the same location.
I now accept direct deposit and credit card payments through Pay Theory. I also accept cash or check in person.
WHERE DO YOU HOLD YOUR TUTORING SESSIONS?
I come to you! Most of my clients prefer the ease of in-home tutoring sessions. However, if you prefer, we can meet at a public location such as a library.
I travel to families in the Roaring Fork Valley between Aspen and Carbondale. This includes Aspen, Snowmass Village, Old Snowmass, Woody Creek, Basalt, El Jebel, and Carbondale.
DO YOU HAVE A SPECIFIC TEACHING QUALIFICATION?
Yes. I have a Colorado K-6 Teaching License, and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Denver. I have taught in both Denver Public Schools, Westminster Public Schools, and Aspen Public Schools in K-4 classrooms. I have experience tutoring students in Pre-K through 4th Grade.
WHAT ABOUT COVID-19?
Right now I am offering in-person tutoring sessions to all new clients. I am fully vaccinated and boosted, and I believe in open and honest communication with each client and their family when it comes to COVID-19 safety precautions.
If a student or someone in the home is experiencing flu-like symptoms I ask that you let me know in advance, and we can either reschedule or do online sessions as-needed.
